There are more of us…

I’ve had a couple of interactions with Republicans over the last couple v of days.  In both cases they indicated a disconnect with the Tea Party extremism that has c taken over the party of late.  It’s not an uncommon conversation.

Here’s my thinking on this.

Are you a Republican who has Democratic friends?  (Or vice versa; the door swings both ways.) Can you break bread or have a beer or a cup off coffee with someone you disagree with politically, maybe even going so far as to actually talk about political controversies? Can you walk away from those conversations smiling,  maybe even having found common ground?

If this sounds like you,  please find a way to get involved in local politics.  The only way extremists can prevail odds of ordinary people of good will allow them to.

Think about it.
