There Will Be No Corporations in Heaven

Corporations are not people, my friends.

Corporations are legal constructs.

Corporations can produce and consume.

Corporations can pollute and clean up pollution.

Corporations can build up and tear down.

They can foster community or they can foster division.

But there are things that corporations cannot do.

Human things.

Corporations cannot breath.

Corporations cannot see.

Or hear.

Or smell.

Or taste.

Or touch.

Corporations cannot be caught breathless at the sight of true beauty.

Or fall silent at the strains of a perfect melody.

Or gaze at the stars in the deepest of awe, for they have no eyes.

Corporations have no hands with which to touch.

No eyes to shed tears.

No mouth to whisper intimacies in a lover’s ear..

No lips to kiss or arms to embrace.

No heart to break.

Corporations know not wonder

Or joy.

Or pain.

Or hunger.

Or thirst.

Or passion.

Or fear.

Or hatred.

Corporations do not know love.

Corporations are not people.
