Occupy camps in Boston and Seattle Under Attack

I sat down to start writing, but I became distracted watching the livestream of Occupy Boston.  Reports from twitter and independent video uploaded to youtube say that riot police moved in at about 2AM EDT to forcibly break up one of two Occupy Boston Camps.  There also appears to be a threat that the Seattle Police Department is about to break up the Seattle camp.   It will be interesting to see what transpires in the next 24 hours to give an idea of whether attacking these camps will break up the protestors or bring them back in larger numbers tomorrow.  Calls are going out for massive global mobilizations on Saturday.

Update 23:57 PDT

Twitter feeds from Occupy Seattle, Dallas, Boston, St. Louis, Atlanta and San Francisco are all reporting police making mass arrests using the same or similar tactics in all locations.

  1. Andrew says:

It looks like things calmed down. As of this morning, the only confirmation of a raid I can find is Boston. The mayor intervened in Seattle. The threat of arrest still looms, however, and will probably continue to do so throughout the course of the Occupy movement.

  2. John Keller says:

Neutral article about the arrests in Bosten and other places on the occupy protests.
