A Post in Ten Tweets: Earthquake Edition

Okay, so folks back east got a little taste of the West Coast.  It occurs to me that, just as we don’t have traditions related to hurricanes out here, they probably don’t have traditions for earthquakes back there.  I don’t know if I’ll have ten traditions, but I will give you:

A Post in Ten Tweets:  Earthquake Edition

1)  Hey, East Coast!  What’s shakin’?  #obligatorypost-quakegreeting

2) I Feel the Earth Move Under My Feet  #obligatorypost-quakesong

3) Expect aftershocks, call an out of state relative then stay off the phone #obligatoryofficialinstructions

4) Earthquake drill, 2011 edition: Duck, cover, tweet #don’tforgetyourphone

5) You know Lucy Jones from Cal Tech?  She’s your new best friend #familiarface

6) 5.8-6.0 is not catastrophic, but it can kill.  Be careful.  #seriously

7) Things fall off of buildings.  Don’t run outside during the shaking.  #duckcoverhold

8) I’m impressed that Twitter didn’t crash.  Those must be some hefty servers.  #nicejob

9) And that’s why I consider quakes the scariest of natural disasters #nowarning

10) We’ve been there. We’ll help if necessary. It is scary. Sleep well.  Be safe. #onenation
