Has Tripoli Fallen?

Is it Time to Party Like It’s 1989?.

I have to wonder if the folks over at the Daily Post have some kind of prescience.  Their prompt today was to suggest revisiting a topic from January.  Well, okay.  In January, the Arab Spring began in Tunisia and then Egypt.  There’s still activity going on in Yemen and Syria.  But the big story became Libya.

I cautiously supported Obama’s policy of providing air support.  Those posts came in March.  In the meantime, Libya has disappeared from the headlines.  Obama has been taken to task from the left and the right for “getting us into another war.

Um, folks, it looks like Tripoli’s fallen.  There Libyan rebels seem to be in control of the capitol, and Ghadafi’s in hiding.

Obviously, this isn’t about Obama or even the U.S.  It’s about Libya, and it would appear that a dicator who had been in power for a dozen years when Hosni Mubarrek took the reigns in Egypt is just about done.

Congratualtions to the people of Libya.
