Well, I have not abandoned “Great” Thoughts. As you may have gathered from my last few posts, I’ve been busy with the effort to Save Lynnwood’s KidsKlub Preschool . The good news is that the efforts seem to be paying off, but the process will go on for a while. But I have not forgotten about “Great” Thoughts.
Of course, while I’ve been involved in local politics, we’ve been moving inexorably toward November 2 and the mid-term elections. Please vote. Even if you’re voting straight Repbublican, please vote.
That being said, if you are considering voting Republican, please don’t. The Republicans in Congress chose to ignore the will of the people as expressed in the 2008 elections in which Obama was elected in a landslide, and Democrats gained huge majorities in both houses of Congress. They have fillibustered 109 times and thrown up every roadblock they could think of to stifle Democratic efforts to right the ship. Their efforts, aided and abetted by False News, the right wing echo chamber populated by bigots like Limbaugh and Beck, and a timid mainstream corporate media, have been filled with more hatred, bigotry, and flat out lies than I can even begin to detail in this post. If you’re disappointed that Obama has not fixed everything in two years, please remember that the economy is in recovery and he has accomplished quite a bit, again more than I can detail here. We’re dealing with the results of 30 years of trickle down economics. You can’t fix that in two years.
The bottom line is this. Please vote. Please vote Democratic. If the Republicans take control of Congress, we will all regret it.
