The Next Season

An old season ends

Summer bows out

Her harsh glaring heat fades to

Coolness blanketed in warm earthy sunlight

Leaves burst forth in color

Blazing intensity precedes dormancy

Reds, yellows, oranges

Beneath slate gray skies

Adorning limb and land in turn

Autumn takes the stage

A new season begins
