Minutes of the Special Viertel Family Meeting for May 16, 2010

Mr. Andrew Viertel, Moderator

Mrs. Alissa Viertel

Master Harrison Viertel (Age 4)

Miss Anna Viertel (Age  21 Months).

This was a special meeting called by Master Viertel who insisted, upon our return from the beach that we take off our shoes and meet in his room.

The meeting was called to order by Mr. Viertel at or around 7:30 PM

Master Viertel raised a point of personal privilege stating that he wished the door to the meeting room closed.  Mr. Viertel removed the Hot Wheels launcher from the door to accommodate.

Approval of Agenda

As this was a special meeting, there was no agenda to approve.

Approval of Minutes

There were no minutes of previous meetings, as there have been no such meeting.

Budget Report

The budget committee of Mr. and Mrs. Viertel had met on Friday night, and as Master and Miss Viertel don’t really understand finance there was no report from this meeting.

Old Business

As this was the first meeting, there was no old business.

New Business

Master Viertel pointed out that we passed a park with two large spider web climbing structures and suggested that we go to that park on our next park trip.  He also asked to go to Seaside, OR.  Mrs. Viertel addressed the Seaside question first, reporting that since we are spending an extended weekend at Grandma and Grandpa’s home and taking a cruise and road trip to and from California this year, neither our fiscal nor our vacation time budget would allow for such a trip this year, but we could definitely go to the spider web park.  Mr. Viertel noted that the park is called the Paine Field Community Park.  Miss Viertel growled.

It was moved by Mrs. Viertel and seconded by Master Viertel that Paine Field Community Park be considered as a destination for our next family park outing. The motion passed unanimously.

Team Building Exercise

Master Viertel proceeded to pass out prizes (toy cars in various sizes) with the intent that each attendee perform a magic trick involving the car.  He began by attempting to make his car disappear and reported success. Mr. Viertel attempted to make his car fly by tossing it onto the bed.  It accidentally hit Master Viertel in the face. Mr. Viertel apologized.  Master Viertel laughed.  Miss Viertel also laughed.  Mrs.  Viertel, citing time and safety concerns and a point of parental privilege called for the remainder of the exercise to be terminated.

Mrs. Viertel, citing no further business moved for adjournment to jammie time.  Mr. Viertel seconded and called for the vote to take the form of departure from the room.  There was some confusion about this provision however as Master and Miss Viertel believed that said departure was to take place on Mr. Viertel’s back, as evidenced by the fact that he had moved to his hands and knees in the process of getting up from the floor.  Mrs. Viertel amended her motion to include a provision that Mr. Viertel recover his pants that had been removed by the children in the ensuing scuffle.

On that note, the meeting was adjourned at or about 7:55 PM on May 16, 2010

Submitted by Mr. Andrew Viertel on May 16, 2010 at 9:55 PM.
